Brennon Willard finishes 16th in Spring Nationals
On Friday and Saturday, Brenon Willard raced in the 12th annual Spring Nationals at the state-of-the-art Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. He came away from the 3/8-mile oval with a feature appearance in the $20,000-to-win Super Late Model finale.
Willard was part of a 43-car field in the event opener on Friday and drove his Willard Asphalt No. 3 ride to seventh in his heat. He finished fifth in his B-Main, coming up one position shy of a transfer into the night’s 40-lap, $7,000-to-win feature.
The next night, Willard raced among 40 Super Late Models and again finished seventh in one of four heats. However, this time he grabbed the fourth and final transfer spot in his B-Main and started 23rd in the 60-lap main event. He advanced seven positions in the race to come home 16th.
