Brennon Willard claims top-10 finish at Quincy Raceways during MARS weekend run

Two $5,000-to-win MARS Late Model Championship shows in Illinois were on the docket for Brennon Willard on Friday and Saturday. He drove his Willard Cattle No. 3 Super Late Model to a best finish of ninth.

On Friday, Willard was part of a 25-car MARS field at the quarter-mile Quincy Raceways. He turned in a mid-pack qualifying time, but used a fourth-place finish in his heat race to move into the night’s feature. He started 10th and came home ninth in the 40-lapper.

Thirty-six MARS Late Models were at Highland Speedway on Saturday, where Willard qualified 11th in his group. He took fifth in both his heat and B-Main on the quarter-mile oval, putting him 21st to begin the 40-lap main event. He picked up four spots in the race to finish 17th.

After the weekend’s events, Willard sits 14th in MARS Late Model Championship points.
