Brennon Willard starts season at Vado

Over the first weekend in January, Brennon Willard took on the first two days of the 19th annual Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout to begin his 2025 campaign. Forty-seven Super Late Models descended on the 3/8-mile oval in Vado, New Mexico, for the traditional season opener.

In Saturday’s preliminary action, Willard drove his Willard Asphalt No. 3 Super Late Model to ninth in his heat race. He then finished 12th in his B-Main to end his night before the 50-lap, $25,000-main event.

The next day, Willard qualified with the fourth-quickest time in his group and came up one spot shy of transferring into the 40-lap main event through his heat race. He started second in his B-Main, but was caught up in a crash and finished 13th, unable to move on to the $10,000-to-win feature.
